Tech Worth Owning ("we," "us") is run by Cory. This page explains, in plain English, what happens to your information when you visit TechWorthOwning.com. The short version: we don't ask for your personal information, and we don't run accounts, email signup or analytics at this time.
What we collect
We don't have accounts, comments, forms or an email list on this site, so we don't collect your name, email address or similar details through it. If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you write, and we use it only to reply, fix an error or follow up on your question.
Hosting and server logs
This is a static website hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Like any web host, Cloudflare may process technical request data such as your IP address, browser type, the pages requested and the time, to deliver the site, keep it secure and prevent abuse. We don't use this data to identify you. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
Analytics
We don't use analytics today. We may add Cloudflare Web Analytics, a tool that measures page views without cookies and without tracking you across sites. If we add it or any other analytics tool, we will update this policy first.
Affiliate links and third-party cookies
Some links on this site are affiliate links, marked "paid link." They may go to Amazon (through the Amazon Associates program, once we are approved) or to other affiliate networks and stores. When you click one, the store or network may set cookies or use similar technology on your device to record that you came from us, so we can be credited for a purchase. We don't control those cookies. Their use is covered by the privacy policy of the site you land on. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; this may stop us getting credit for a purchase, and it never changes your price.
Embedded videos
Some pages embed YouTube videos. When you load or play an embedded video, Google (YouTube) may set cookies and collect information about your visit under Google's privacy policy. We aim to use YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com), which limits tracking until you play a video. Our videos and profiles on YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, X and other platforms are also governed by those platforms' own policies.
Links to other sites
We link to retailers, manufacturers and other sites. We aren't responsible for their privacy practices or content. Check their policies before you share information with them.
Children
This site is for a general audience and isn't aimed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children. If you think a child has sent us information, email us and we'll delete it.
Your choices and rights
You can email us to ask what information we hold about you (generally only emails you've sent), or to ask us to correct or delete it, and we'll respond within a reasonable time. Depending on where you live, you may have additional legal rights over your personal information; we'll honor valid requests as required by the law that applies. We don't sell your personal information.
Security and retention
We keep emails only as long as needed to handle your message or keep a record of a correction. No website or email system is perfectly secure, so please don't send sensitive information.
Changes
We may update this policy as the site grows, for example when we add analytics or email signup. The "last updated" date at the top shows the latest version.
